Spring Tablescapes at the Lake
Bringing Spring to your table is one of the best ways to get over the chill of Winter and bring a new feeling of hope and happiness into your home! Really!
I had fun with this table setting on our screened-in porch. Our family loves making the room cozy with a crackling fire and using a tablecloth to make the iron table more soft and comfortable. This one has a European feel with plaid on the top and colored florals around the edge.

Daffodils bring bright sunshiny color to the table and the fact that they are inside a wicker fishing creel basket makes this table a fisherman's delight! The antique fish plates are perfect to carry out the theme, and hem-stitched napkins complement the table with a rustic touch.

The mix of gold rimmed wine glasses and bamboo flatware with willow placemat all make the textures very interesting and a feast for the eyes! Layers start with the willow placemat, then a faux wooden charger, then a vintage yellow tin splatter ware plate and topped off with the antique fish plate.

The rustic hemstitch napkins are only made more wonderful by the old-looking silver napkin rings with a turquoise stone. Details like this just make the place setting!

This table is set ready for Easter complete with Easter bunny napkins and a beautiful bouquet from Sidelines Custom Floral Shop in Kansas City, MO. The arrangement is held together in a vase covered in bark for the lake touch. And did you see the vase sits on an antique hobnail plate?

I love this bunny peeking out as if to say, "Happy Easter!" Spring calls for this white plate and it sits on a lovely green charger that goes well at Christmas as well. All of it is flanked by a basket like placemat, and nothing is more elegant than antique pearl-handled silver flatware, a rare find at antique shows. Of course, I didn't want to cover up the wooden carving detail on the table with a table cloth!

This table is really the picture of pretty and simple. It's really all you need.
