Meet Lucy the Lake Dog
Woof! I'm Lucy! I became a part of our family at the lake house when I was just eight weeks old, and my first bed was a beach towel. From that day on, I have been in love with the lake and everything about it. My favorite things are to run up and down the shoreline, swim with the fish and watch for blue herons while boating with my family. After seeing how excited I was to be at my happy place, my mom decided to write about it. Everything in the book is true.

I am a curious chocolate Labrador retriever who lives at a house on the lake with my family. I love to run free and explore all the fun down at the lake, but one summer morning when my patience is tested, I realize all of life's sweetest moments are best spent with the ones I love so much.

About Seasons of the Lake
Seasons of the Lake is a blog written by mom about life at the lake. She and my dad are parents to me and three other grown kids, and the lake has been a great place for us all to gather with our friends and family. As the seasons change, she shares how she entertains, decorates our lake house, and how she makes lots of creative stuff. She really just wants you to know that anyone, anywhere can enjoy the spirit of the lake!
Jacqueline Kerr has illustrated my book as if you were visiting our lake house. What you see on my mom's blog is also in the book, right down to the pattern on the bedspreads!
How I Help Other Animals
A portion of every "Lucy the Lake Dog" book sold will be donated to the KC Pet Project, a nonprofit charitable organization operating the KC Campus for Animal Care, Kansas City, Missouri’s, Animal Shelter. They care for more than 10,000 animals a year and now have 14 locations in Missouri and Kansas to adopt pets.
