The thing I love about Thanksgiving is combining the different recipes from both sides of the family. My family has always included my grandmother's Sauerkraut and my mother's Red Applesauce, and my in-laws always have had their famous Oyster Stuffing, which I have grown to love over the years. It's never quite the same unless a huge pot of Wedding Soup is cooking on the stove, a Costello family tradition. We prefer to have it for lunch instead of right before Thanksgiving dinner. And my unique contributions have always been Cranberry Jello Salad and Cranberry Fig Chutney to serve alongside the turkey, which I love making because of the way it fills your house with wonderful smell of fall.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with all of your recipe traditions and maybe some new ones!
