These were the days of Sugar and Spice Popcorn. When our kids were little and even into high school, Halloween was super special around our house. The kids would build a haunted house in our garage and work on it with the neighborhood kids for weeks after school and on the weekends. Halloween night always consisted of chili, hot cider and the infamous Sugar and Spice Popcorn. It really wasn't the same without it. It musters up all those spicy sweet flavors of fall and combines it with our family's favorite food - popcorn. My daughter graduated college this year and has requested this nostalgic treat before she moves out of town - even though it won't quite be Halloween.
Sugar and Spice Popcorn

3 T. Sugar
1/4 t. Ground cinnamon
1/4 t. Ground nutmeg

Melt butter in a pan on the stove and add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Drizzle over popcorn and toss until well coated. (Note: I usually use these measurements as a guide and add a lot more of everything!)
